Meet the Castillo's

Our family journey started out in 2004 and even though we were both studying our Master's degrees at the University of New Mexico, it took Dave charming Michelle in Las Vegas with his country dance moves for us to meet. After finishing school, our jobs (his in Physical Therapy and mine in Higher Education) landed us in Arizona (Michelle's home state). After three years we got married and three years after that we had our oldest son, Kody (who ultimately lit my fire of photography). Three years later, we had our youngest son Jakob, and boy I'm just realizing we have a thing for threes!
Having just celebrated our 14 year wedding anniversary, we have been through some amazing times and some really rough times. We feel incredibly lucky to have been blessed with our two amazing boys who are very active! We love to be outdoors, on the lake, camping, country dancing and making the most out of every weekend we have together (which is usually spent on the soccer field)!
Meet Michelle "Lee"

Along with seeing a portrait come to life through print, I'm inspired by people and their own amazing stories and journeys. I won my first 35mm film camera when I was in the 6th grade. I worked my booty off, selling magazines just so that I could "buy" that camera. It was the beginning of something that I had no idea at the time would be become my profession.
I worked for many years in higher education, helping and assisting families maneuver the financial burdens of obtaining a college degree. While I thoroughly enjoyed working with students, my creative side yearned for something different. My dad, who is the reason my middle name is "Lee", always told me that I needed to do something that made me happy as I would be working for a long time. That always resonated with me and with the support of my husband, established Michelle Lee Photography in 2012.
I love photography for many reasons and feel so honored to be able to give my clients heirlooms of moments that they will treasure forever. I vow to never stop learning and improving and for this reason, I attend many workshops, conferences and am a member of Wedding and Portrait Photographers International organization. Quality, Safety (especially with newborns) and Service are three (yep three!) things that I take to heart when it comes to your experience with Michelle Lee Photography.
I can't wait to meet you!
